Windsor Essex Community Housing Corporation (WECHC) is seeking a single proposal from qualified contractors to undertake a comprehensive civil construction project aimed at improving the functionality, safety, and accessibility of three of its residential developments. This project focuses on enhancing critical infrastructure elements such as parking lots, sidewalks, stormwater systems, and waste management features, in line with regulatory and accessibility standards.
The project is divided across three distinct locations, each involving specific civil works:
• Location 1: Jos Janisse (859–881 Jos Janisse St)
Servicing six row housing buildings (totaling 34 residential units), this site will undergo
full asphalt/concrete parking lot reconstruction; grading and storm sewer work; isolated replacement of concrete curbs, sidewalks, approaches, and pads; installation of bike racks; installation of EarthBins; addition of accessibility features in compliance with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards; line painting; material testing; and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) inspection of storm sewers.
• Location 2: Mercer/Niagara (860 Mercer St and 438 Niagara St)
Shared parking lot servicing two multi-residential buildings. Work includes asphalt pavement replacements and repairs per drawings; isolated replacement of concrete curbs/islands, aprons around catchbasins; line painting; material testing; and CCTV storm sewer inspection.
• Location 3: Fountainbleau Towers (2455 Rivard Ave)
Servicing a multi-residential apartment complex. Work includes asphalt and concrete replacement and repairs as per design; isolated replacement of concrete pavements and aprons around catchbasins; installation of bike racks; addition of accessibility features in compliance with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards; line painting; material testing; and storm sewer CCTV inspection.
The project is time bound and is expected to be completed over a three-month period to be completed as per Part 6.2 Sequencing.
